PANTA REI – IN THE FLOW is one of the most evocative and philosophically intriguing video installations created by Stefano Fake & The Fake Factory. It deeply explores the concept of fluid time and the perception of reality as a continuous flow that never stops. The title “Panta Rei” is a reference to the famous phrase by Heraclitus meaning “everything flows,” suggesting that reality is in constant change, never stable, always in motion. In this installation, the concept of “flow” is examined not only in terms of time, but also as a phenomenon that permeates every aspect of human experience, from the physical environment to the mind and individual perception.
The installation focuses on the idea that time is not a linear, measurable entity as we commonly conceive it, but rather a continuous and dynamic flow that escapes our ability to grasp it. The concept of fluid time implies that each moment dissolves into the next, creating a sense of incessant movement and transience. In this view, time is not a fixed entity to observe, but an ongoing process that involves constant changes and metamorphoses. The images develop and evolve as a continuous visual flow that fills the entire space, suggesting that time never stops, but flows incessantly, transforming everything it encounters, mixing reality with digital elements that constantly flow and change. One of the most fascinating ideas of this installation is that reality itself is represented as a continuous flow of images and perceptions that succeed one another seamlessly. Every visual element transforms and dissolves into the next, creating an immersive experience in which no moment is fixed, only a succession of fluid changes. The projections spill over onto physical objects in the environment, interacting with architectural surfaces, people, and real objects. “Panta Rei – In the Flow” invites the audience to reflect on the fleeting nature of time and our perception of it. PANTA REI – IN THE FLOW è una delle video installazioni più suggestive e filosoficamente interessanti create da Stefano Fake & The Fake Factory, che esplora in profondità il concetto di tempo fluido e la percezione della realtà come un flusso continuo che scorre senza mai fermarsi. Il titolo stesso, “Panta Rei,” è un richiamo alla famosa frase di Eraclito che significa “tutto scorre”, suggerendo che la realtà è in costante cambiamento, mai stabile, sempre in movimento. In questa installazione, il concetto di “flusso” è esaminato non solo in termini di tempo, ma anche come un fenomeno che permea ogni aspetto dell’esperienza umana, dall’ambiente fisico alla mente e percezione individuale.
L’installazione si concentra sull’idea che il tempo non è un’entità lineare e misurabile, come comunemente lo concepiamo, ma piuttosto un flusso continuo e dinamico che sfugge alla nostra capacità di afferrarlo.
